So this entry is sort of a eulogy to the camera body that I'm retiring.
Oh Nikon D40, you wonderful entry level DSLR. You've been my go to for these past 6 years and have never failed me in regards to battery life or image sensor. You consistently pulled usable and beautiful images out of what little I gave you to work with, and for that, I thank you. I can say without any doubt that you helped me become a better photographer and for this I also thank you. However, it's now time that you take a break and I move on to bigger and better things.
As the French say, "the king is dead, long live the king."
As for the new kid on the block, I went ahead and purchased a Nikon D5200 body for a reasonable sum and shall be posting work from it in the very near future.
